G1 Ponies were first available in the early 80s. The original pony was called My Pretty Pony, a large plastic model preceding My Little Pony the year before its release.

G1 Ponies came in a full range of products, including toys, books, bedding, clothes, and even My Little Pony: The Movie. Over the course of its run, the brand brought in worldwide retail sales of over one billion dollars. No wonder so many of us recognize the little ponies when we see them, including Firefly, the Pegasus Pony. Other familiar faces include Moondancer, Glory, and Bow-tie.
