Baby Bellaluna spots the new PC game with free baby pony for preorder on Walmart.com (also available for preorder with other online retailers, such as amazon.com). It will be released at the end of September. The new baby pony's name is Sparkleberry Swirl. (Earlier this year there was a vote to decide her name. Choices were Starberry, Sparkleberry Swirl, and Sweetie-belle.)

See some screenshots. More.

More thoughts on the recent events concerning Shenanigans, Cherry Blossom, Sweetsong, and Cupcake (thanks, Lady Twilight). Toys, Toys, Toys stores in Canada do seem to be getting these ponies in stock, so check that out (thanks, all).

New pony diary, stamp set, and play pad (as spotted earlier at several bookstores).

August 20, 2004

A petition is being prepared in the event that Shenanigans, Cherry Blossom, Sweetsong, and Cupcake are found limited for purchase this coming season. We are still checking on the actual status of these products to see if they are on the lineup for release with major stores later this year. If the product is indeed limited, Hasbro has encouraged collectors and parents to approach their marketing department with requests to extend production or reissue these characters.

Congrats, IPD Winners! :) Art Contest Winners We're still waiting on one of the judges for the writing contest. Winners tomorrow, I think.

We are still trying to get more information on the status of Shenanigans, Cherry Blossom, Sweetsong, and Cupcake, to see if stores plan to stock them later this year. In other news...My Little Pony on DVD in the US...finally! (Thanks all!) This will feature cartoons from the '80s.

August 18, 2004 - UPDATED!

News concerning those, like myself, who are waiting for the last of the rainbow/glitter ponies to arrive: Shenanigans, Cherry Blossom, Sweetsong, and Cupcake have been very hard to find. A report from Hasbro (thanks, KDCE) indicates that the future production of these ponies will be cancelled soon (and there is no telling how many ponies are currently in circulation). As such we cannot predict the availability of these products in the near future, as we know they have been difficult to find up until recently. Please, please think very hard before rushing to pay inflated prices on these ponies. We cannot anticipate how many more are waiting in store warehouses or which ponies might be reissued. Or even in what countries they might appear. There might be more coming in as stores reset shelves for the fall (we simply don't know at this time). If you rush to buy them, you buy them at your own risk.

If you do spot any of these hard-to-find ponies, drop us a line, or post your find on the Pony Finders Board. As for some good news, Silver Song and Silly Sunshine will definately be available for purchase later this year. New marks added to the TM registry: Dibble Dabble, Tripsy Daisy, Peachie Keen, Misty Mornings, Dainty Daisy, Lulabelle, Bumbleberry, Bon Appetite, Green Apple, and Light Heart. Also Rainbow Swirl (already confirmed as a fall sparkle pony). Again, these might be pony names, but sometimes they end up being places/things associated with Ponyville or additional product names (thanks Glory80 and da guys). IPD contest updates August 20th. Site updates (checklists, worldwide availability, etc.) pending today/tomorrow. Additional site updates (profiles, galleries, etc.), pending as usual, lol. When I have the time...

WARNING: Princessluna11706 reports that some of the brushes may be poorly manufactured, breaking or easily losing bristles (these being made by the company "Zooth" and are called Zoothbrushes). While there may be only a few defected brushes, it's better to give your child's brush a look just to be sure. Please contact the manufacturer with any concerns.

Arwyn reports finding 2nd edition sparkle ponies at Wal-Mart (including Denim Blue, Peachy Pie, Desert Blossom, and Rainbow Swirl). Also several reports of them being spotted in Australia. And www.mylittlepony.com is now updating.

Heather reports that some of her older G3 ponies are losing their magnets from general playwear (in particular from being stuck repeatedly on large metal objects). Given that the magnet is small enough to be hazardous to very young children (ex. if swallowed), we though it best to mention this. Always inspect your toys on a regular basis, just in case.
August 10, 2004
Bellaluna finds new names in the TM registry: Dream Blue, Light Heart, Wing Wishes, Sundance. Costco has 4-packs (one regular and evening dress-up, one jewel and one sparkle). Tracegates finds new MLP ornaments for 2004.

KDCE reports after speaking with Hasbro: I called Hasbro and...confirmed that the Amusement park playset will be coming out later in the fall. It's name is Rainbow Amusement Park playset.  Frilly Frocks Boutique will also be released in the fall as confirmed already. Denim Blue, Peachy Pie, Sapphire Shores, Wondermint, & Star Dasher should all be showing up on shelves now. Rainbow Swirl they didn't show as distributed widely. Cinnamon Breeze, Spring Parade, Piccolo, & Golden Delicious should all be showing up in stores very soon. Cupcake & Sweetsong are still being distributed to the following stores:  TRU, KB, Target, Wal-Mart & K-Mart.  I was told to call the corporate offices and find out what stores still have them in stock.

From experience, I would say "now" sometimes means "in a month or two," depending on how quickly the product is distributed, so don't get frustrated if you can't find them right away. The only ponies that seem out of the loop right now are: Cherry Blossom, Shenanigans, Cupcake, and Sweetsong. Either they have not been widely distributed or they are about to be. *shrugs*

Bill's Toys and Games has images of the new Birthday/Moonlight Celebration sets (with new Sweetberry and Tink-a-tink-a-too ponies; thanks, Aleigh).
August 5, 2004
Frilly Frocks was recently added to the TM registry (thanks Tootie Tails), confirming the Frilly Frocks Boutique, a new playset shop coming out later this fall (name for the amusement park playset not yet confirmed). The previously unnamed purple baby pony (which originally came free with Rainbow Flash) is now being packaged with the castle, labeled as Baby Romperooni (thanks, Woosie). New WIA auctions now on eBay, including Cinnamon Breeze, Spring Parade, Golden Delicious, and Piccolo. These will be available on the general market later this year, but if you want to get them early and own one of the "First 50" now is your chance.
