Caring for G3 Ponies

Some things to consider about your G3 pony.

Magnets

The new ponies have magnets in their feet that allow them to interact with their playsets. Keep magnets at least 2 feet away from computers, TVs, VCRs, videotapes, cameras, watches, credit cards, etc, to prevent interference.

Fading -- Very pale pink hair will fade white if left exposed to sunlight for extended periods of time. There are different types of pink hair and the palest version is the most likely to fade, though all colors can fade if left exposed to too much sun.

Heat -- While you can use a low-heat curling iron on most types of regular pony hair, tinsel and certain types of hair may curl or tear or be otherwise damaged by the heat. Eye or symbol paint may also smudge if the heating element is too close. If you choose to apply heat to the hair, do so with caution (and the supervision of an adult, if necessary). Another way of curling hair is to use pencils or straws on which to wrap the curls (while damp or dry) and use an elastic to hold and set the curl.

Paint -- When storing your playsets or displaying ponies on or near their playsets, please be mindful of all the painted areas. The paint on some of the playsets (and some clothing) will come off and/or stain your ponies. If you leave your ponies standing on painted areas, they may become stuck. Use caution.

Storage

The ponies are made from soft plastic. Avoid storing them directly under heavy objects that may crush or distort the plastic.

Consider storing your accessories in a small craft box or fishing tackle box or even plastic bags to help keep them in order.

Brushes

I like to cut the nameplate off the box when I’m dismantling it, punch a hole in it, and then tie the brush to it so I know which brush came with each pony. There is no great way to tell brushes apart, except to keep very good track of them! You can also tie the brush around the pony’s neck or use a tackle box.
