Cupcake was a part of the general assortment
of glitter ponies, which should have been
available at most stores in early summer 2004.
Unfortunately, she was very hard to find at that
time. The
reasons are not entirely clear, but may
have been related to production or the merge of
rainbow/glitter ponies into the new Perfectly Pony
group, which may have cause poor distribution for the last glitter set
(of which she was a part).
She was usually spotted at independent retailers
or at smaller retailers, such as closeout stores
or grocery stores and pharmacies. She was bundled
in special "Buy Three" sets for a low price at
Wal-Mart and ended up at other discount chains in
